What Are Dental Emergencies?

Of course, a broken tooth or one that has been knocked out completely is a dental emergency, but you don’t have to lose a tooth for it to be considered an emergency! Lost fillings or crowns, pain in the mouth, any toothache, facial swelling or teeth that have become extremely sensitive all constitute dental emergencies.

24/7 Emergency Dental Service

At our dental practice, your oral health is our priority. We offer a 24/7 Emergency Dental Service to address your urgent dental needs. If you’re facing a dental emergency, don’t hesitate to call us at any time. Even after regular hours, our on-call dentist can be reached through the mobile number provided in our phone message. They’re equipped to offer immediate advice and, if necessary, will facilitate an in-clinic treatment. Your comfort and health are our utmost concern, and we are committed to providing care when you need it most.

What to Expect

Dr Nina Ong and Dr Luke Dodd do everything possible to fit you in on the same day, including staying late on Friday to ensure you don’t have to go all weekend with a toothache.

When you come in, we will do an examination to determine the underlying cause of any pain, swelling or sensitivity, or to assess a broken or missing tooth. We’ll explain the problem and lay out our recommendations for treatment, including any costs. We will do our best to complete any needed treatment at this visit.

For things like lost crowns, we can provide a temporary crown at this visit while we wait for the permanent replacement crown to be fabricated at the lab. Similarly, if we do a root canal treatment and you need a crown, we’ll place the temporary crown and send the moulds to the lab for the permanent crown. In some cases, multiple visits may be required to complete your treatment; this will all depend on your specific situation, and your dentist will make sure you understand everything.
